Your Cedral Weatherboard needs to be fixed to vertical battens of at least 50mm wide. The spacing between each batten depends on how many battens the cladding board is being attached to. When fixed to three battens, the spacing should be a maximum of 600mm across the elevation; when fixed to only two battens, the spacing should be a maximum of 400mm.
When installing your cladding you should keep the ventilation of the system in mind. Behind the Cedral cladding there should be a 30mm minimum clear cavity with a 10mm continuous opening at the base, head, at the window and door heads and cills. This ensures that there is an efficient ventilation system running behind the cladding, preventing a build up of moisture which could lead to problems in the future. |
