| The brief was for a large two bay car port with a high roofed store next to it for the family caravan. The customer has a large period house next to the garage and wanted a feature and something of beauty that was also very practical.
We used locally grown Douglas Fir posts and beams for the structural part of the build and them inset timber frame to add rigidity and a fixing point for the cladding, this also stops the frame from moving. The timber was all treated to user class four giving me the confidence that the building will last a good long time with no chance of rot or bug infestation.
We used a distressed tile for the roof so the building would blend into the surrounding older buildings and countryside and then clad the sides and back with beautiful Scandinavian redwood Shiplap cladding. The finish is striking and the customer very pleased. |
